LOVE THOSE BUTTERFLIES

Those who know me, know how I love butterflies.  This video is great as it explains the difference between thinlets, framelits and how to use them with the big shot.  My only other suggestion is to prime each of the thinlets first (fine detailed dies) with running them through on a dryer sheet and plain paper between the plates.  The plain photo copy paper prevents the film from the dryer sheet getting onto your cutting plate.  Once primed it puts a film on the thinlet and this makes it so easy to fall off the card when cutting butterflies out.    This can be used on any of the fine detail dies.   If your die does not pop out easily with the fine pieces just add a sheet of paper or card.  This is called a shim.   You put this on the outside on the top of the cutting plate.  It can be used over and over and it adds thickness to the sandwich of plates going through and the added pressure will cut the detail better and allow it to easily poke out.  Hope this helps but if you want help let me know.

TEAM TRAINING

We had a fabulous day at team training on Saturday 12th.  Photo above some of the team and front row on the right is Jacque whose team I belong to and beside her is Emma our NZ Country Manager, it was such a great time we spent together.   Below is part of an awesome presentation of Sarajane's who is in our team.  Very talented and creative and newly engaged.   Such a great day.  If you would like to be part of our team and have such fun, please email me and I can send you the information.   You can join as a business or simply to get discount on your own product.  You just need to maintain purchases each month of $175 minimum and you can join in all the fun.  You can make a business of it too and run classes but that is entirely your choice.  I am keen to grow my team and would love to hear from you.  I will be there to help you along the way

GIFT BAG PUNCH BOARD

This bag is so cute.  You can make many variations once you get the bag making off pat you can scor a line on the top instead of making holes and fold the top part of the bag out making a nice trim, put handles on with card and brads instead of the ribbon, have ribbon but as handles, decorate the bags with flowers, leaves, bows etc.  Such a handy tool for NZD $39.   Even found a way of making boxes with a lid with this bag maker.  It is awesome

PERPETUAL CALENDER

This is an awesome kit, which allows you to enter birthdays throughout the year and never forget them.  It lasts for years as it has no year on it, unless you wish to write that as a birthdate by the birthday.   It has a month per page and you can decorate it, makes a great gift for a friend who is crafty to make themselves, or make it up for them and gift it.  comes in a gift box so it makes that very easy.  Price is NZ$32.95.  There is a co-ordinating stamp set with months, splotches to decorate but if you choose to caligraphy the months and use other stamps you have you can decorate and there are stickers and letters, ribbon and allsorts to decorate as well.  WOW it is fabulous.

RECENT EXTRAVAGANZA

This was the project we made at our recent extravaganza.  Made with blackberry bliss cardstock, it took one sheet.  The holder on the left had a back pocket to insert the cutlery and a front angled pocket for the menu.  Belly band to hold it closed.  Little treat holder on the right is personalised with the Metro Alphabet stamp set on silver glimmer scallop circle and has a chocolate truffle with a message inside.  The project went down well with the customers.

MY DESIGNER PAPER DRESS

I saw a décor magazine and a lady had made dresses full size out of paper and I decided to try it with designer paper.
It kind of works, not perfect, but it got me thinking you can do anything with paper.  It is 21 inches long used one sheet 12x12 for the skirt and the 2nd sheet 12x12 for the top and straps.  I used a dinner plate to shape the sides and the top front of the top and the shoulders I cut down the centre of the paper 4 inches and folded it back.  Using the reverse of the designer paper which created a feature.  Cut off 1 inches from the skirt and reversed that too with a little crochet lace in between.   Pool party seam binding was the best match.  Why don't you try it, it was fun

SNEAK PEAK CARD

This card is cased from the new catalogue 2014 from Stampin' UpⓇ and the card is slightly different but my version.  Some of the items I did not have.  It uses champagne glimmer paper and the pieces punched out are put onto the velum card flags, the leaf is from the gorgeous new Kinda eclectic stamp set which we were given at convention in Melbourne, colours are crumbcake card, crisp cantaloupe and pistachio pudding.  The sentiment is from Sketched Birthday.
You may not be able to see but the espresso band near the foot of the card is cut with the fringe scissors.

MUMS BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Bought my 92 year young Mum a bird builder punch so rather than just wrap it up made a bag.  3 1/4", wide and 8" long with a 1 3/8" gusset.  I think she will like it.  Just loving the spiral flower die used it on this as well, rolled the very vanilla and the summer starfruit together for the centre one and summer starfruit single one top and bottom.  So easy to make and pretty effective.

GIFT BOXES FOR MY CHOCOLATE SHOP

These were made with a paper stack pad, 4.5" x 6.5". Scor at 1.5", 3", 4.5", 6" on the landscape side. Turn Portrait and scor at 1.5".  Concertina fold the box on the landscape side and push into the new scallop tag punch and punch through all layers.  Cut to scorline and make up the base.  With the circle framelit make a window in the front panel, punch out a 1" and 1 1/4" scallop to add a frame around the window, and a piece of window sheet on the back.  Pinch in the sides to close the bag and tie with ribbon.   The label I printed on some whisper white on the computer and cut with the ticket punch along with a red ticked to layer onto it.  2 little caramel eggs inside and they make such a cute gift.

ALTERED BABY FORMULA CAN

This canister is a Karitane Baby formula can which I covered with Soho Subway designer series paper and put the summer starfruit ribbon top and bottom.  The large flower is punched with the blossom punch,  the medium one is punched with the pansy punch and the small one is the petite petals.  All petals are in very vanilla and sponged with raspberry ripple.  Brad them together and then spritz and scrunch.  I did the same with the leaves sponged with always artichoke and then spritz and scrunch to achieve a vintage look. It is a door prize for extravaganza as a canister for storage or a craft desk trash can.  Why don't you make one and send me a photo?

HANDBAGS

These are made with the free saleabration designer series papers "sweet sorbet".  When you purchase NZD$110 you can choose from the many items in the saleabration catalogue.  The finished size of this bag is 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep so they are a good size.  Flowers are made with any of the stampin' up!Ⓡ punches and in this case the black & crisp cantaloupe ones are the blossom punch, the island indigo ones are the medium scallop and the summer starfruit one is the pansy punch.  Great for markets, lovely gifts, thinking ahead perfect for mothers day.  I can give you instructions if you would like, a pleasure or come to one of my classes and I will make them one of the projects

CONVENTION SAMPLE

This is the sample I made up a 3 fold card from an A4 to take to convention for the sample board.  It was an idea I got from a card my daughter in law gave me which was so lovely. Dresses, flowers, layers and vintage some of my favourite things. The black skirt was made from faux suede making 2 skirts & piecing them together.

KRAFT VINTAGE TAGS

Tags base was crumbcake cardstock.  Adhered to that was the brown sheet of candlelight designer series paper and it was embossed with the lacy brocade folder and then sanded to show that detail.  Leaves were moulded and they were fussy cuts from the french foliage stamp set, the sentiment was from the christmas from the heart stamp set and tied up with the crumbcake taffeta ribbon.  A little victorian lace to add detail.

STACK OF BOXES

This is made from our kraft boxes which come in packs of 4 for $5.95NZ.  The bottom box has had panels of core'dinations cardstock which has been embossed with the woodgrain folder and sanded for texture.  the top two are matted with candlelight christmas designer series paper.  A window has been cut with the designer punch and a new flourish frame has been pressed in versamark and embossed in gold to take it from silver to gold to co-ordinate. The bird is made from the elegant bird die in champagne glimmer paper double layer for the wings to give them more body and the body of the bird has 2 layers of white cardstock inside the glimmer paper.  The bird is nestled into some early espresso tulle.  I think the rest is self explainatory.
